Business League Golfers,

Soon it will be time to start up the golf season again. We are starting the process of getting set up for our annual Business League. List below are two topics that are being considered. Please send a reply email of either yes or no on the two topics and any further remarks or suggestions you may have. We look forward to the upcoming golf season. We will do everything in our power to make it as enjoyable for all the players as we can.

1. Handicaps:

Much has been brought to our attention about the handicapping system that we use. This year we are looking at not using the handicap system and using the team average score. So if Team A has a 37.3 average and Team B has a 39.7 average (we drop the decimal and round down), Team B would get 2 strokes. There is one catch; there would be a max number of strokes given for each division. A Division: 2, B Division: 2, C Division: 3, D Division: 4.

2. Substitute Players:

This season if a substitute is brought for a team and that team was to receive strokes, then the teams will play even up.  If the team with the substitute was to give strokes to their opponent, you will still give the difference of the team’s scoring average.

Listed above are proposed changes to the Business League that we would like for you to reply about. Nothing as of yet nothing is set for the season. Please if you would give your remarks and suggestions to us in a reply email. This way we can make the best decisions for the entire league.

Players who are 65 years of age or older will have the option to play the white tees. With the new handicapping system that uses the team’s average and a max stroke cap, this should not be a problem. However, this will need to be declared on the first night of league and after it is declared it will need to remain as such for the remainder of the season.
